It is the primary ingredient that the body requires to promote and effect healing. In the pressurized environment of the hyperbaric chamber, your blood is able to hold extra molecules of oxygen. Hyperbaric therapy is even used to help racehorses recover quickly from injury! Health Canada recognizes hyperbaric oxygen as a treatment for several conditions. You stay in the chamber for approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours, during which you can watch videos, or read. For the first few minutes, your ears will adjust, the same as in an airplane take-off, so you can chew gum (or swallow). You wear the oxygen mask over your nose.
